1   How far in advance should I book?

Each year, La Miraje seems to fill up faster and faster. This year, we have several return guests that have booked with us well over a year in advance. To be safe, get your group to agree on a date and book it as soon as possible. Book at least 6 - 9 months in advance for high season (November - May).  Book at least 4 - 6 months in advance for the rest of the year (June - September).  Book 1 year in advance or more for holidays (Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Easter).  There are a few weeks scattered throughout the year that are still open. You should always call us first to see what weeks are still available.

 

2   Are the bedrooms air conditioned?

Yes.  While La Miraje is designed to enjoy the fresh rainforest air, however, all indoor living areas can be closed off and fully air conditioned.

 

 3  Can I walk to the beach?

Yes. There are only 5 homes in town that are within a 20 minute walk to the beach. La Miraje is one of them. Because of our perfect location right off the main road, you can walk down to the beach in 30 minutes, or flag down a cab on the corner, or just hop on the 60 cents, 5 minute bus ride that ends at the beach and the entrance to the National Park.

 

4   Where exactly are you located?

La Miraje is located right off the main road in Manuel Antonio Center, From this villa, you can easily walk to restaurants, bars, a private nature reserve, the beach, and even a casino. You don’t need a car during your stay at La Miraje. 5   Do I need to rent a car?

No. This is considered Manuel Antonio Center. You will be in walking distance to the best bars, restaurants, grocery stores, live music etc... The main road leading to the beach and to the town of Quepos is new and is a 30 second walk from the villa. No you do not need a car here. The bus is frequent, fun and 315 colones which is 60 cents. That will take you up and down the hill, should you decide not to walk, to the beach and to the other direction to Quepos in about 7 min. The bus stop is on the main road by the house.The Farmers market is in Quepos. If you prefer to take a taxi, they are available by the bus stop also.If you decide to do any adventure or something, they will pick you up and bring you back to La Miraje.

 

6   Can more than 8 people stay at La Miraje?

Yes. There are in the large common area where we have 2 Barcelona type futons and a nice daybed for your use. We also have a crib available. Not recommended for more than 8(note: there is a slight additional fee for more than 7 people).

 

7   How private is the property?

While the front of the villa it is open to mountain and neighborhood views, it is private and secluded in the rear. You can enjoy peace and quiet time if need be. It also contains a private outdoor kitchen with a gas grill in the rear patio.

 

8   Can I see animals at the house every day?

Yes. Since La Miraje is surrounded by the rainforest, you never know who will stop by the house. Some days, it is white face monkeys, others, it's the tiki monkeys. Giant tree lizards can be spotted sunning themselves in the morning. Sloths, and howler monkeys. Sometimes they are hard to see, but if you pay close attention and you will see them (and definitely hear them). And, of course, every day there are hundreds of birds, including toucans and parrots.

 

9   Can you arrange transportation from San Jose to La Miraje?

Yes. Just let us know your flight details and we will have someone pick you up at the airport and take you to our front door.

 

10  Can I arrange for a private chef to cook meals?

Yes. Our private chef can cook breakfast / lunch / dinner for you any day you wish. Just pick the chef and menu. The chef will purchase all food, serve the food, and clean up afterwards.  All you need to do is sit back, listen to the central music system and enjoy a cocktail by the pool. Select a Chef

 

11  Do you have maid service?

Yes. Our maid cleans the villa, fix the beds and total daily house cleaning.  We do it so you don't have to. 

 

12  Can you arrange day excursions for our group?

Yes. There are so many different activities in Manuel Antonio, you will have to come back several times to finish them all. Relax at the pool or beaches, have a guided tour of the national park, horseback ride, or be more adventurous with white water rafting, deep sea fishing, ATV tours, mountain bike trails, or the world famous 'zip-lines' .
